Interview Advice
Make sure you know all the basics:
-Interview location
-Time, date
-Interviewers full name and job title
-The full job description if the position you will be interviewed for
Always allow plenty of time, aim to arrive 15 minutes early. A test run the day before is always helpful so you know exactly where you are going and how long it takes.
Dress professionally – always look smart to create a good first impression
Do not rush to answer questions, take your time and speak slowly and clearly. Also make sure to answer questions fully and honestly.
Do not give more information than required, look out for “cut off” cues.
Emphasize your accomplishments
Explain your answers, never answer with a simple “yes” or “no”
When speaking about previous employers/companies – never speak negatively about them.
Be prepared to ask questions regarding the company and position you are applying to work for, this shows genuine interest.
Ensure they know you are interested in the position; never close the door on an opportunity.
Eye contact is vital: look interested and alert at all times
Carry a copy of your CV and know what information is on there!
